Faith Hill
Faith Hill came to us from Cobb County Animal Shelter. Painfully thin, mobility compromised and not a hope in the world, this 14 year old Shiba Inu mix was thinking she was on her way out. We are excited that within a short while she is eating very well and has already put on some weight. She is an absolute delight, loves to meander around outside in the sunshine and is settling in beautifully. |
Cate Blanchett
Cate Blanchett came to us from our friends at Forsyth County Animal Shelter. Cancer patient Cate is a stunningly beautiful Boxer with eyes that could inspire a sonnet and a mouth that speaks volumes without words. We fell for this girl the minute we saw her, so we vowed to take her in and try to do as much as we can to make her comfortable and give her an amazing quality of life. Because our dogs come to us having been neglected, abused or cast aside, it’s even more important to remind them every moment of the day that they have so much to live for, so many volunteers to cuddle, so many pals to play with and SO many big chunks of meat to chew! We are blessed to have her. |
Holly Hunter
Meet 14 year old Holly Hunter, all 4 pounds of her! Little Holly came to us by way of one of our volunteers Cynthia, who fosters for Releash Atlanta who are also partners of ours. She had her for a short time before realizing she needed some very extra special technical care. This little angel needed a soft place to land where she could eat specially prepared meals, get daily fluids and B12 to help heal her gut, and friends to hang out with so she wouldn’t have to feel alone. We literally JUMPED at the chance to have her and while we knew that it was going to be an uphill struggle with all the issues she has going on, we are so proud of the huge gains she has made already in just a couple of weeks. Holly is sweet as pie and just wants to be cuddled or rest her wobbly little legs in a soft bed. |
Graham Nash
Graham Nash came to us courtesy of our dear friends Elaine and Cliff Joliff, who just knew that he was a perfect fit for the cabin. At 15 years old and living with an elderly owner who adored him but was unable to care for him any longer, scruffy Dachshund mix Graham was in dire need of medical care and some good groceries when they met him. One look and we were sold (and of course passing the temp test)! This feisty little man has been swaggering his way into everyone's hearts. He is funny, engaging and so happy he can't even believe his own luck and more importantly, he knows he is home! |
Dennis Quaid
Dennis Quaid came to us from Walton County Animal Shelter, where he was deemed in such bad shape that they did not think he'd make it even a few days. He was scheduled for euthanasia as soon as his stray-hold was up. ETC Georgia and Pup and Cat Co both approached us to see if we could take him in. Pup and Cat Co went and picked him up in the nick of time and he went to a medical foster for a few days until we were able to take him. We took one look at that face and said "He has been through so much, he needs FAAP." With a little moving things around, we were able to find him a spot in our new Boris cabin where he straight away became friends with Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray. He is a sweet gentle soul and so grateful to be alive. |
Vin Diesel
Vin Diesel is a 15 year old who came to us by way of Gwinnett Animal Control. He was found roaming the streets for several weeks and was picked up by Animal Control. It turns out he was microchipped and when the owners were contacted multiple times, they never came for him. He is playful and reminds us very much of David Beckham who we had for quite some time before he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. |
Woody Harrelson
Woody Harrelson is a dashing little dachshund beagle mix with fabulous Charlie Chaplin legs and a frosty face. He is gentle, loving and probably one of the most grateful dogs we have ever had at the cabin. He came to us from Orphan Annie Rescue and was down on his luck. His skin and ears were in a dreadful state and he wasn’t exactly the most pleasing to the eye therefore overlooked by many. He has quickly turned in to a cabin favorite and is absolutely a delight and little love bug! |
Bill Murray
Bill Murray is a 13 year old Chocolate Lab that came to us from Forsyth County Animal Control. He has some difficulties with mobility in his legs and back, but he is one happy guy and we are blessed to have him as our first resident in the new Boris cabin. |
Sir Anthony Hopkins
This sweet Poodle had been with Releash Atlanta for 8 months but no one had wanted to adopt him because he’s a senior. He is a gentle boy who loves to be cuddled and is at his happiest when he’s snuggled in a tiny bed with Kiefer Sutherland, Justin Timberlake and Tom Hanks and he’s so easy going...he may be the most laid back senior we have! We love this boy and are so fortunate to call him ours. |
Snazzy
Snazzy is 12 years old and has been at the Ranch for 3 years as a foster, until we decided to have her live out her years at FAAP as new female in charge after we lost Lil Kim. Snazzy is tactile, friendly, loves to snuggle and is MAD about belly rubs…..if you have all day to give them, she will stay there all day asking for one, and paw you for more, more, more! Snazzy has some severe arthritis in her shoulders and so be careful when you reach down to pet her and try to steer clear of her shoulder areas. She is wonderful with the other dogs and is very good at keeping the peace up at the cabin. |
Taye Diggs
Taye Diggs is a 12 year old Golden Retriever who came to us from the Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta. He had been found by neighbors and was left to live in a garage with no food or water. His health overall is not good, but we will love him for all the days that he has left. He is kind, gentle and has the most soulful eyes. |
Farrah Fawcett
Meet sweet Farrah, a 14 year old Pomeranian who came to us from Hickory Level Hound Rescue. This little girl had been pulled by them from a shelter where she was essentially starving to death. After some time, she has gained some weight and has the most beautiful coat. She is a quiet, sweet, timid doll baby who loves napping on a soft bed or following you around and watching your every move. We are lucky to have her! |
Owen Wilson
Silky terrier mix Wilson had been at Walton County Animal Control and was luckily pulled by Pup and Cat Co who just had to save his life. They named him Snowshoe and placed him in a foster home, where unfortunately a short while after, a family tragedy occurred, and he had to be re-homed immediately. Enter big hearted Juli, who is our weekday morning mama and ‘keeper of records’ for Frankie and Andy’s Place, who said “I got this!” Those three words saved his life because an almost blind, fully deaf dog with the most severe dental issues we have ever seen would not have made it back at the shelter. Shortly after he arrived at the cabin, Wilson had every single one of his teeth out in an emergency procedure at Gwinnett Animal Hospital, our partners in their health, and is now feeling much, much better. He’s very tactile, kind, loving and adores his cabin friends, and can sing the most beautiful tunes! We love him. |
Meryl Streep
This incredible new therapy dog talent came to us from our friends at Peach County Animal Rescue, who had her for a few months and were perplexed that no one was stepping up for her. Almost blind, hard of hearing, she has a bent and broken little body but the heart of a lion...and this miniature powerhouse is a whopping 16 years old! Meryl, with her funny, feisty nature but soft-as-a-rabbit fur is an awesome addition to our working dog pack at Frankie and Andy’s Place. |
Vivien Leigh
Vivien came to us from Hickory Level Hound Rescue after being found a stray. This chihuahua loves to be cuddled and is very affectionate with the other dogs. She like many of the seniors, is always up for meal and snack time! She is such a delightful addition to our crew. |
Otis Redding
Otis Redding is a 15 year old Poodle mix who came to us from Paulding County Animal Shelter and had been on the danger list because of his age and health issues. He had horrible dental health, a cyst in his jaw the size of a golf ball, undescended testicles, skin issues as well as typical old dog aches and pains. We’ve now taken care of the cyst, dental and testicles and he’s feeling a lot better. This handsome guy has a big, big personality and will schmooze everyone and makes all of us feel like we are “the one.” He has no shame in his game and keeps us all laughing and smiling nonstop! |
Rupert Grint
Rupert Grint is a 15 year old Dachshund who came to us from Lee County Humane Society in Alabama. Like many of our seniors, he has very poor dental health. He is a sweet little old man who loves snuggling in a bed with whoever will let him. He is a soulful little old gentleman who just wants a soft, quiet place to land. |
Rihanna
Rihanna came to us along with her brother Sam Elliott from Dream Dachshund Rescue after being surrendered by their owner to Polk County Animal Shelter. At around 13 years of age, this girl may be up there in years, but she’s a bouncy ball of fun, despite having some serious disc issues. She is very calm and loves to be wherever her brother, Sam is. |
Parker Posey
This 16 year old delicately boned husky girl rocked our world from the minute we saw her picture from Hickory Level Hound Rescue. She has some several dental issues which often level her sore and tender around her mouth and head area. Her graceful beauty and fairy-like quality had us all madly in love with her from the get-go and we are so thankful to be giving her a forever home here at the cabin. |
Orville Redenbacher
This little black bear cub looking gem waltzed into our lives and straight into our hearts when one of our founding partners Penny Andrews rescued him on the spot from a difficult situation. At 12 years of age, this Chow mix has some back issues and needed a forever home with no stairs or jumpy dogs. A breath of fresh air to the cabin, this spunky little black fluff ball, with his charming snort and perma-grin is just the most amazing addition. |
Princess Charlotte
Charlotte is definitely royalty in our eyes! This sweet Beagle came to us from Hickory Level Hound Rescue. Charlotte is so very laid back and calm. Her favorite thing to do is nap (she takes a lot of those!) especially if it includes spooning with one of her senior dog friends. We love her chunky little self! |
Dakota Fanning
This precious 12 year old GSP was dropped off by her family at the shelter because she was getting old and her owners didn’t have “time” for her anymore. One look at her and we knew she had to be ours. She was very malnourished and obviously neglected. All she wants is to be loved and snuggled with and has the kindest, gentlest spirit. We are all smitten with her, both us humans and the other seniors! |
GORDON LIGHTFOOT
This beautiful little 11 year old Pomeranian spent months and months in the shelter as he was part of a court case. When he got to The Society of Humane Friends who pulled him, he was so immune compromised and had low body weight, heart, dental and thyroid issues. He is now thriving, put on weight and health is much better. Gordon is a feisty little guy with a deep raspy voice and prances around the cabin as if he owns it! He loves his best buddy JT and snuggling in a bed together. |
JAMES EARL JONES
Almost 3 years ago, James was told he had maybe 6 months to live and was fostered by a sweet family who also fostered young children. As time went by and he aged, being around energetic children was hard for James. Where better for James to retire at nearly 15 years of age? Well, Frankie and Andy’s Place of course! This “Puggle” (Beagle and Pug mix) is living his best senior life and already making his appearance at the Adult Day Center community visits. |
KATE WINSLET
Beautiful dachshund Kate Winslet came to us through Orphan Annie Rescue. She came from a dreadful situation and we are so thankful that Orphan Annie Rescue was able to save her. She had a huge hanging mass from her undercarriage that we successfully had removed. She came to us very shy and unassuming but has really come out of her shell and discovered her voice and spunk! |
Shakira
Shakira is a 15+ year old Dachshund who came to us from Dream Dachshund Rescue and was part of a massive hoarding situation. She was one of the lucky ones who escaped with her life, albeit with an unfixable broken jaw and appalling dental issues. This girl is cuddly, sassy and sings for her supper! Not to mention has the cutest (and longest) tongue that is her trademark! |
Patrick Dempsey
Patrick Dempsey is a 15 year old Silky/ Yorkshire Terrier mix who came to us from Cherokee County where he had been found a stray. He is mostly blind, but his hearing is sharp as a tack! He’s the first to greet you when you walk in the door. From day one he claimed a big cushy chair as his and even demanded his own set of stairs to be able to sit on top of his “throne.” He’s got the best little personality and we adore him. |
ADELE
Adele was a delightful Chihuahua mix who came to us from a Northwest Georgia shelter when it was discovered that she was a hospice case needing a soft place to land for her final months. Mammary tutors that had gotten ugly and infected as well as advanced heartworms and severe dental issues meant that even a miracle could not have saved this dear, sweet girl. Multiple surgeries would have been her only chance, but multiple surgeries would have killed her. Our only goal knowing this, was to give her a beautiful experience and wrap her in love. So, we did what we could to keep her well for as long as possible and she spent her time between living at the cabin and her wonderful foster, Cindy Vaughn. Adele passed just before Christmas 2021 and we felt that we had lost what could have been one of the greatest therapy dogs ever. Her connection to senior folks and her ability to drench others with love was unparalleled. She will be sadly missed. |
POST MALONE
Post Malone was a delightful 14 year old Shi Tzu mix that came to us from Athens Clark shelter. We took one look at him, with an eye bigger than a golf ball and knew we had to help him as an emergency situation as we feared it might explode. We had no room at the cabin and so our wonderful volunteer Lisa Jennings committed to keeping him at her house throughout his medical treatment. Sadly that huge eye was not glaucoma as we hoped, it was a brain tumor, which we discovered when he started having violent seizures. Lisa nursed him right through to the end and, even though he never made it to the cabin to live, he was still very much a part of the FAAP family of beloved dogs. We were so grateful to have known him and to know that for one sweet boy, we were able to re-write his final chapter and give him a happy ending. |
