We try to help every dog we can, but sometimes that's not possible, either due to room, or maybe the dog's temperament isn't a fit for our community outreach work. Whatever the reason, we want you to know that you are not alone and if we can help you in other ways, we will.
Of course, like most rescues, we have a pretty low opinion of anyone who calls us and says 'We are moving to Florida and we can't take our dog'. (Our answer is always the same, 'Good news, they allow dogs in Florida so you don't have to dump your senior dog right when she needs you the most!')
However, in truth, some people face real hardship and can't afford to feed their dog, health issues for seniors may seem insurmountable or it maybe just that their dog can't manage in the family home anymore.
These people we want to help.
Frankie and Andy's Place is pleased to offer 'Senior Solutions' a special advice service for anyone with a senior dog that is wondering how they can make it work to keep their beloved pet with them.
It may be health advice you need, environmental management, handling tips, dietary advice, local vet recommendations, we know that sometimes the questions you have can't be answered by your vet or a local shelter and you just don't know where to turn. We are pleased to help if we can.
In the last 7 years, we have saved over 120 dogs to join the Frankie and Andy's Place forever home for senior and hospice dogs, but we have helped many hundreds more with a little timely advice right when they need it. For many, it has been the difference between life and death for their pooch...just because we know a thing or two about seniors, and want to share what we have learned.
And we want you to reach out to us, if you are at a crossroads with your dog, to see if we can help you navigate your way through any problems, and maybe not have to give your beloved pet up after all?
Send an email to [email protected] with a brief bullet-point style email detailing your senior dog's issues and if we can help, we will.
Helping hands, healing paws, it's what we are all about....
